What sub is better for SPL? Alpine type X 12" or Kicker L7 12"?

I'm looking for new subs and can't determine which one would be better for SPL..the Alpine is rated 1000 rms and the L7 is rated at 750 rms. But, the L7 is said to be like a 15" because of the square design. Help
