Anyone on here own a .38?

Just wondering what you reckon a .38 bullet casing is made of, The thing is this casing is silver so I'm thinking it might be brass but nickel plated. the casing is actually a "38 SPL +P" Winchester and is silver colored. I ask because i am shoving this pretty baby in my stretched ear and so obviously nickle would probably give me an infection so i am being overcautious ;) any help much obliged
